The Time to Love

Life's busyness leads us to make many sacrifices, not least of which is time with those we love. Whether it was trying to provide a better life for my family or avoiding someone who caused me grief. I believed I made those sacrifices with the noblest intentions.
In each case, it was always about me and what I thought I wanted or needed. I realize now this caused me to miss the chance to love the people in my life more than I would like to admit.
This week, a brother that I have not kept in touch with or spent much time with died suddenly. He went to work, kissed his wife, said he loved her, and never came home.
His death has opened my eyes to the many times I have missed the opportunity to love the people in my life, regardless of the reason.
Knowing there is no guarantee of tomorrow, why do we wait to love others while we can?
Our Lord modeled this for us when He took the time to show His love by sending His Son to die on a Cross.
So remember to take the time to love someone today, because they may not be here tomorrow.
1 John 4:11, Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another
