Tyranny Leads to Revolution

History has shown us, “tranny leads to revolution.” This is true because every great revolution has started as a response to tyranny.

However, many times we fail to realize tyranny is not limited to dictators, kings, or governments. It is also not a thing of the past.

In fact, tyranny presents itself in a myriad of ways.

It takes place in the home, where tyrannical spouses can demean and destroy not only their marriage, but the character and self-esteem of the person they profess to love. Tyrannical parents can exasperate their children and cause discouragement and depression, resulting in bad behavior, poor performance and worse.

It is present in the workplace, where tyrannical bosses lord over their employees because they know these people need their jobs. This can result in dissent, poor performance and the creation of toxic environments.

Tyranny also happens in our churches and places of worship, where the influence of leaders can become self-serving and used for self-adulation, not only hurting those they lead, but the very cause they claim to represent.

Finally, as the past teaches us, tyranny can occur in our governments. Here is where tyrants assume power and destroy the people and nations they rule. They do so in ways that are beyond the realm of human understanding and have led to unimaginable atrocities.

So, what can be done? As an individual, how can we avoid becoming a tyrant? As people, how can we avoid following tyrants, who by their nature, are opportunistic and are always positioning themselves to push their agendas forward.

Well, we can avoid being a tyrant and following one, by preparing for a revolution. This revolution does not have to be a violent one if we resolve to prepare our hearts and minds now.

You see, “there is going to be a revolution “and there needs to be one. Because of this, we must live as if we are aware of the tyrants living among us and not allow them to reign.

We do this by “renewing our minds and not conforming to the ways of this world”. Because conformity is the tool of tyrants and destruction is the result.

The reason for revolution is “because we all want to change the world”. The truth is what our world changes in to is, up to us!

Proverbs 25:26, “Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked”.
