For several years now, there seems to be an emphasis on replacing individualism with collectivism. As with most movements, those who see the need to do so often have the noblest of intentions.

The problem is we are different by design. Imagine a world where we embraced those differences instead of trying to look like, dress like, think like, and act like someone else?

A world where we understood that beauty is not found in our similarities but in our differences.

Sadly, this is difficult because being different often makes us uncomfortable, doesn’t it?

What if I told you, Jesus was different? In fact, He challenged the status quo at every turn. Isaiah tells us that He was “despised and rejected by men.” He was not who people expected, yet He was exactly who they needed.

Jesus remained different all the way to the Cross.

Perhaps if we are convinced we should be like someone else, we should be like Him! Now that would be different, wouldn’t it?

Hoping my life will be uniquely mine, no matter how different that may seem!
