As I step back and watch what is happening in our world. I cannot help but believe “stormy weather” is fast approaching.
This is because people today seem willing to look at things they know are wrong and should not be tolerated by any civil society and come away agreeing or tolerating whatever nonsense is spewed by those with the megaphone.
In the past, I have resisted speaking out on most cultural issues, fearing offending those who may choose to read what I have written. However, I have reached the end of my proverbial rope with what has happened in the 2024 Summer Olympics, from the opening ceremonies and their undeniable shot at the Christian faith to the transgender boxer who pummeled female boxers on his way to a gold medal.
The current Olympics has taken my desire not to offend and my, it is not affecting me attitude and poked it in the eye one too many times.
The cry for diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the Western world has reached a point where those who have tried to prayerfully consider whether people who espouse these views have their hearts in the right place have given way to a new reality.
This is because regardless of whether their hearts are in the right place, these people have their heads in the wrong place.
Having witnessed my mom being physically abused as a child, to now watching culture push an ideology that allows and celebrates biological men publicly physically abusing women is a step too far.
Many of us have sought to avoid life's “stormy weather” by seeking to be left alone or not getting involved. I believe this is a mistake because an attitude of disregard does not help anyone or anything.
Do I believe it is my place to dictate how others live? No, just as I do not believe it is the place of others to dictate how I live. However, there is a limit, and I think this movement of so-called inclusiveness has reached it.
It is not realistic to anticipate tolerance and acceptance in response to mistreating individuals and ridiculing their faith and beliefs.
So, where do we go from here? I suppose that is up to the individual. I know I am no longer looking at “stormy weather” as if I only need an umbrella. I believe it is time to seek shelter from the storm.
I am doing so because I cannot allow the storms led by a world intent on blurring the lines between morality and common sense to overwhelm my life.
The question is, where will you go for shelter from the storm? As for me, I am seeking shelter in Jesus Christ, who has redeemed me and loves me despite myself.
If you do not see the “stormy weather” brewing around you, I ask you to open your eyes. When you do, I believe you will see that the evil preaching tolerance and inclusion is a storm about to consume us all!
Proverbs 16:17, “The highway of the upright is to depart from evil; He who watches his way preserves his life.”
Amen John “preach brother” yes well said.
Jer. 6:16
This is what theLordsays: “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; Then you will find a resting place for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walkin it.’
Unfortunately That's the message from the megaphone. “We will not walk in it.”
Thanks John.
Amen, Pastor John- well said!
